Call routing according to database

Hi all,

please dont you know if there is a possibility within CUCM 7.1 to route calls according to some database.

The thing is, that here we gotta several GSM providers and they dont have strict numbering plans, which means that if you want to change

provider of your GSM phone and you dont want to change your number it is possible.

But problem for our call routing is that we would like to buy lines to every provider and we can also get dbase of numbers (which belong to which

provider) but I dont know how to make routing work according to this dbase. Simply said, we cannost setup route patterns like this

1XXX - provider A

2XXX - provider B

3XXX - provider C

because there can be numbers in extension 1XXX belonging to provider C, and so on.

Do somebody got idea?

All the call routing is done based on what you have the DB, if you cannot configure whole ranges then you would need to configure the individual phone numbers as route patterns.

You need to get that info configured in route patterns so CUCM knows how to route those calls.

Hi, thanks but it is not possible to configure individual patterns, because Im speaking here about hundreds thousands

of records - about individual numbers of GSM users. Isnt there another way?

Perhaps you can use some perl and get your records into a CSV format, and use BAT to import the configuration for the route patterns. That's your easiest path to automation. If you are good with AXL, you can probably script something that way, too, but there's likely a learning curve there.

Otherwise, hire a intern that can type fast and get crankin' with adding patterns. :-P
