WAN backup links

We just move to a VPLS (layer 2) WAN.

At this moment I woould like to create a backup failover in case the primary WAN link failed in remote offices, utilizing the local firewalls in each remote office.

Each remote office has local access to Internet using Cisco PIXes.and connection to WAN using Cisco 2811 routers. Local core siwtches are Cisco 3750.

Please see attached for the remote site network topology.

We ran EIGRP accros the whole network.

I believe, the best place to put the rules are the core switches in each remote office.

As alway, your help is really appreciated.

Thanks

Alex

Hi Alex,

If your VPLS provider VPN (Level-3) can also provide you Internet access, you can use a seperate physical link or the same physical link but a different logical interface to access the internet.
