Unified wireless network with different AP Region

Hi all,

I am new to this community.

I have some question regarding Unified wireless network deployment using WLC.

In my country, Indonesia, previously there's no strict rule on wireless LAN, so we can deploy product with either FCC or ETSI standard. But now government has set some ground rules, that all wireless LAN product must follow ETSI standard.

Following that regulation, someway we have to replace our existing FCC product with ETSI product, but we can only do that process gradually.

So with that condition, there will be a mixed of FCC AP products and ETSI AP products in our network.

While there is not much problem in autonomous mode, how about in LWAPP mode?

Can WLC support both ETSI and FCC product at the same time?

N how about in the different mobility group?

thanks in advance.

Hi Thimothy,

Yes, WLCs can be configured with several country codes. If the multiple countries selected involve several regulatory domains, then both -A and -E (fcc and etsi) will be supported.

However, the WLC is using the common ground between the 2 regulatory domains (= the lowest power authorized by the 2).

But I guess your point is having both -A and -E access points joined to it, and that is ok.

When having multiple WLC, their regulatory domains and country codes doesn't matter much.
