We have procured new link BW of 40Mb but our router have the capcity to support 30Mb only.We are planning to configure as below to do shaping for 30Mb only.Does shape wan QOS support to restrict the link BW to 30Mb, it is against to actual 40Mb...

Hello Binu,
IF it is a software based router that supports modular QoS your configuration will be accepted and it will do what you want to achieve.
I wonder however, if it is appropriate to use it as if the router has performance limitations it is auto limited to a value less then 40 Mbps it would be wise to shape on the other side and probably is what you want to do

I will apply shape-wan at both side.
Router is cisco 7206 12.3-12e.bin IOS router..Does it meet this requirement? Please advise

Hello Binu,
you are fine with software based routers that include the C7200.
Shaping on the weaker side may be considered not a necessity as router performance are lower then WAN bandwidth.
