Convert Triggered Contact to Contact Variable

Is it possible to convert a “Triggered Contact” to a “Contact Variable” without using the “Place Call” step.  I have a script setup to prompt the caller to record their name then the recording is placed in queue using the “Place Call” step.  I’d like to accomplish the same, but without having to use the “Place Call” step, any suggestions?

Any ideas would be more than welcome!!!
