Hi guys,

I have a working setup but I am wondering why I don't have any statistics available on my VFC interfaces.

lct-n5kup# show int counters fc brief

lct-n5kup# show int vfc 1

vfc1 is up

    Bound MAC is 00:00:c9:d0:46:29

    FCF priority is 128

    Hardware is Virtual Fibre Channel

    Port WWN is 20:00:00:0d:ec:e6:31:7f

Admin port mode is F, trunk mode is on

snmp link state traps are enabled

Port mode is F, FCID is 0x010006

    Port vsan is 546

    5 minute input rate 0 bits/sec, 0 bytes/sec, 0 frames/sec

    5 minute output rate 0 bits/sec, 0 bytes/sec, 0 frames/sec

      0 frames input, 0 bytes

        0 discards, 0 errors

      0 frames output, 0 bytes

        0 discards, 0 errors

Interface last changed at Tue Sep 21 13:47:13 2010

Again everything is working fine but I do not have any statistics on my VFCs.

Any hints on that?

Thanks a lot!

I see you are binding MAC addresses to your vFC rather than interfaces(perhaps you have a downstream FIP snooping switch such as Nexus 4000).

Note that Nexus 5000 does not support interface statistics for MAC bound vFCs.

Thank you for answering my question.

Could you also give an explanation why the behavior is like that?
