I had 2 WRV200 vpn routers setup and working fine between 2 offices. Our main office took a lightning strike and amongst other issues, fried the WRV200 at that site. I was not able to locate/purchase another WRV200, so I upgraded to the WRVS4400N gigabit router.
I have successfully configured the new WRVS4400N to connect the VPN tunnel to the WRV200. Unfortunately, the vpn connection will not stay up more than a few days at most. when the connection drops, I must log into the WRV200 and tell it to restart the connection. I can't do it from the WRVS4400N side.
I think I have seen some posts regarding this issue, but I haven't see a resolution other than setup a ping request from one computer to another across the tunnel. This seems a bit awkward and I hadn't had to do that with the older WRV200.
does anyone have a solution? I've checked for firmware updates and it appears that I have the latest.
