Metro-E & Cisco ASA?

Hello

We are beginning to evaluate using metro-E as an Internet service vs. our traditional bridged connection.

Can anyone share any "gotchas" or things I should look/ask for that I might miss otherwise?

Also, is it possible to plug the metro-E straight into a cisco ASA firewall?

I've seen alot of vendors that try to sell a router with the metro-E.

I would prefer to go straight into the ASA if possible.

Thanks,

Adam

Hi Adam

If you connect the internet link directly onto your ASA you may not have the full flexibility to run routing as you would like to have that might be a drawback here. Also it depends on what kinda routing protocol you are going for, the load sharing, redundancy plans may take back seat if you connect the link on your ASA.

Do post more info about the seup and your plans for load sharing redundancy etc.,
