Fastethernet port on PA Vs on NPE-G2

Hi All,

Can anybody tell me difference between fastethernet port on PA-2FE-TX and FA0/2 on NPE G2.

I have 7206 Router where I am facing issue with conecting a link router when i connect this link on any port on fastetheret of port adaptors it showing low relibility but once i conect this link on fastethernet of NPE-G2 i works fine.

Hello Ramesh,

the built-in ports are managed without going via the bus used to reach the external (for the NPE) Port Adapters.

The NPE G2 has an I/O controller on the board and it uses it to reach the PAs via the PCI bus(es)

To be noted also performances of built in ports on NPE G1/G2 is better for the same reason

is the ony reason why i m getting low reliability on fastethernet of PA and getting proper reliability on fastethernet on NPE-G2.
