Most Cisco documentation suggests disabling IGMP snooping for
QinQ. However I have seen mention of a feature on the 7600 for
"IGMP snooping for QinQ ". Does anyone have any technical details on this feature or a link on where I can read more about how it works. I am particularly interested in router ports.

Hello Steve,
cisco feature navigator has no entry for this "IGMP snooping QinQ" I agree it could be interesting
and I cannot find it in release notes for 12.2(33)SRE
http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/ios/12_2sr/release/notes/122SRrn.html
have you got a link mentioning it?
Hope to help
Giuseppe

Giuslar,
But this is the only product mentioning this feature.

Hello Steve,
ES 20 and other linecards are specialized linecards for metro ethernet I would say that in this case IGMP snooping over QinQ is supported in HW by these linecards
to use them you need SUP720 3B or better
Hope to help

Giuslar,
Sorry for the delay and many thanks for your help. Unfortunately I was looking for details on how it would work technically.
Best regards
Steve
