Why am I getting this aironet 1400 error

Unanswered Question

We have put the volt meter to this and its drawing .18 then it spikes to 2.6 goes down to .18. The spikes are random. It forms the association but it says "Association processing" but the error log reads as below.

This worked great for 1.5 years and suddenly it is doing this. They are seeing each other and the ssid is identical. Latest firmware, same firmware on both sides.

Hi Peter,

Packet to client 001b.d5f1.9721 reached max retries, removing the client means that the access point is not receiving an ACK back to a packet it sent to the other bridge, it retried it until removing the client association.

if you say it was working fine and stopped working without any changes then check environment, are the APs still well installed? Did you physically inspect them? We have seen birds nesting on Bridges :-) you will be surprised.

Anything poped in the middle of the line of sight?

If they are getting associated at some stage and then dropping the connection, maybe then do a "sh dot11 asso all" form both of them, while associated, so we know at which signal they are hearing each other.

Peter,

When you say it's been running for 1.5 years without an issue and now it's not working, but you also said they have the latest firmware on them. So my question is this, did you recently upgrade the firmware on the units and them you began to have this issue? If so I would 1st check the release notes of that code version, secondly I'd be tempted to roll back to the firmware that was running fine..

Aside from that make sure that the transmit power is the same on both sides of the bridge link, verify the physical installation as reccomended earlier, lastly maybe try another channel to make sure that someone else hasn't put up a bridge that is shooting thru yours on the same channel but with more power.

Hope this helps, Please rate useful posts.

Thanks,
