CUCM 7.1.3 users in different device pool can't call each other

dear all,

i have a cluster of four servers v7.1.3. Site A is having 3 servers (publisher and two subscribers) and site B is having one subscriber. i created two device pools (one for each site). and each device pool is having its CM group and MRGL. i am using the same region.

If the phones are in same Device pool they can call each other and if different device pools they can not.

regards,

Ibrahim

Obvious question but , do you use Auto Reg? The DP`s can allocate Auto Reg CSS and maybe this CSS does not contain the Partitions?

I am not using auto registration and at this stage iam not using partitions.

the phones are registered but iam not sure why is this happining. is there any thing related to media resources (note that iam using same region for device pools and thus same codec

regards,

Ibrahim

Hi Ibrahim,

When the call fails do you get a fast busy, or call can not be completed as dialed?

While the devices are in different device pools, what is the region setting between them, what codec are they defined to talk in? what are the media resources in their MRGL's?

Regards

Kunal

iam geting fast busy.

The phones in Site A are using MRGL having HQ MRG as member and phones in Site B are using MRGL having K10 MRG as member

Hi Ibrahim.

Looks like a media negotiation issue..

What is the MRGL being used on the NCB HQ DP  and on the NCB K10 DP, is it the same?

Or is the MRGL being used on the device level, are the MRGL's on the phone the same?

With out the call manager trace its giong to be very hard to say why its failing..

Set the traces to detailed on all the nodes and grab a trace for the bad call.

fillow the link below to collect call manager traces:

http://www.cisco.com/en/US/partner/products/sw/voicesw/ps556/products_tech_note09186a0080094e89.shtml

Mention the calling, called party numbers, with the MAC address of the phones.

Kunal

Hi Kunal,

iam not putting any MRGL under DP. iam putting it under the phone settings only (phones in site A using HQ MRGL and phones in site B using K10 MRGL.

i also did a test where i put site A phone and site B phone on the same MRGL and i reset the phones but still not working.

Ibrahim Chehouri
