Scientific Atlanta with Cisco Digital Signs

Hi Tomas,

Wanted to ask you, if i want to play a DMD presentation with live feed through Digital Signs, would I need Digital Cast license also, or just create a playlist with UDP multicast source when using SA encoder?

I see that in DMD there is this option "Enterprise TV" and all the info that I found for it,that is Digital Cast object. Can you please clarify this?

Do you have any guide for streaming live feed for Digital Signs.

Thanks a lot,

Tiberie

Tiberie,

There are a couple of ways to display live streams on the

digital signs:

* Use CAST and display the channels

  (requires CAST license)

* Use a playlist with UDP asset in the playlist

* Use DMD and add media playlist with UDP asset

If this answers your question, Please take time to mark this

Thank You!

Tomas, to be clear that I understand the concept and workflow...

One can connect analog camera for live feed to the Scientific Atlanta 9032SD encoder and than get IP converted MPEG2 multicast stream to the DMM - > DMPs and so forth... right!?

Thanks,

Tiberie

Tiberie,

you need to look at the inputs on the 9032D.

I don't know if they have analog inputs,  I don't have

one to see.  Typically, folks have a set top box or

DVD player attached playing content.

But as long as the Video Camera has outputs that

equal inputs on the SA Encoder then it should work.

the workflow is signal input to SA Encoder which then

encodes stream into mpeg2 TS stream and uses multicast

to send into the IP network.

UDP Assets can then be added to the media library of the

DMM or the DMP can display the multicast stream directory.

Video feed -->  sa encoder --> mpeg TS stream via multicast --> DMM or DMP --> attached Display

I hope this helps!
