Remote access to the console port

Hi all,

Has anyone any good ideas or products which would allow remote access to say a switch console port over the web which is secure and simple to deploy.

I have 10 remote sites around europe, but I only have access to the LAN L3 / L2 switch and if the WAN link is down I have no trouble shooting access.

Most sites have a seperate DSL linke.

Any ideas would be brilliant, looking for a black box style solution if possible e.g. able to send to site and plug in configured and if unit fails it can be simply replaced and config uploaded

Have fun all

Regards

anthony

I've used the Avocent CS devices and they are great. They fit all of your requirements listed above.

Hope it helps

Digi makes a serial port server in 8 or 16 port flavors. I have experience with this and it is a resonably easy device to deploy and use.

Raritan also provides a line of serial port servers. I have used the SX-32 model with the Command center platform and this has served me well.
