Load balancers within same subnet

Hello.

We have our load balancers setup and working okay within the Live environment.

However we also have a test setup where the Client, Load Balancers and the Target Servers are all located within the same subnet and in this scenario the Load Balancer refuses to accept connections from the client.

Logically I cannot see anything that would prevent this from a network perspective, but an NMAP / Port scan from the client in the local subnet indicates that the Load Balancers port is not even open. Where as the same NMAP / Port scan from a client outside the subnet would see the Load Balancers port as open.

Does anyone know if there is some strange limitation or design restriction that prevents same subnet Load Balancing?

Thanks.

Providing you have the service policy applied on the correct vlan and you are using source NAT this should work.  Please verify that you have your service policy applied to the vlan where the clients are located.

Thanks,

Chris
