Stacking help of C3750's

Hi there,

I have an existing stack of 4 C3750's which are using the rear stacking cables.  I'm looking to add one more C3750 with the same cable.  Does the whole stack need to get powered down before I add this additional switch to the stack?  Or can I hotplug the additional switch into the stack?

Anything I should be aware of when adding this switch into the mix other than Bridge ID/Priority issues?

Thanks,

Julian

Julian-

According to Cisco docuementation you're supposed to power down the stack then add the switch. However you can do it with the stack powered up, it's just not suggested. I prefer to provision the switch before adding it. Below is a link on managing switch stacks.

http://www.cisco.com/en/US/partner/docs/switches/lan/catalyst3750/software/release/12.2_25_see/configuration/guide/swstack.html

Hope it helps.
