Solved: Cisco UC on HP Switches

Does any one have qos and switch configs related to HP Switches running Cisco UC ?

specifically models such as

a. HP Procurve 5406zl

b. HP Procurve 3500yl

I have not dealt with those specifially, but this is what I have done on other models:

Create VLAN for Voice
conf t
(config)# vlan 112
(vlan-112)# voice
(vlan-112)# end

Set QoS Priority on a VLAN
(config)# vlan 112 qos priority 6

vlan 112
   name "VLAN112"
   no ip address
   qos priority 6
   voice
   exit

Thank you Joel, thats a very good start. I am interested also in

a. how to configure trust boundary with ipphones and pc's

b. how to cnfigure qos like in cisco switches assuming pcs are using ip communicators

c. configuring queue depths, dscp maps..etc like in cisco switches like 3560/3750 etc..

are there good white papers out there for this ? Or do you have a sample config you can send me ?

For basic IP Communicator QoS see if "auto qos voip cisco-softphone" is acceptable.

Joel,

I know Cisco qos, i wasnt looking for Cisco switching qos, i was asking if you have any white papers or sample configs on the qos configs on a HP switch..specifically with hard ip phone and Pc as well as hard ip phone, PC + soft phone etc...

I would just make sure to double check the port queue and 802.1p priority values for your specific HP models.
