Integrating to AD after using CM direcotry database

I have a customer running CM7 that wants to integrate into thier AD now.  I dont want to delete any users and do a clean integration so if the usernames are the same in AD as they are currently in the CM system will this just "update" the current user?

From the SRND 7.x, "Synchronization Mechanis" section:

"When synchronization is enabled for the first time  on a Unified CM publisher server, user accounts that exist in the  corporate directory are imported into the Unified CM database. Then  either existing Unified CM end-user accounts are activated and data is  updated, or a new end-user account is created ..."
