SCC - Import Users from router

In SCC, you can update a CallConnector user (ie. Dept, mobile).

However, if you import Users from Router (add new user), when it updates all of the users, it wipes out those changes you've made.

Why don't you gray them out or don't allow the download to erase those changes?

The work-around is to use csv file to import into Corporate Directory Contacts after you import from router, but that seems like extra step and unneeded step every time you import callconnector users.

Thoughts? Better way?

Hi Joe:

Thank you for highlighting this import issue. As you noted the user import from the Router updates the fields that are available from the router, however it also set other field to default values or blank. We have fixed this so that the update from the router does not affect the other fields in the directory. These changes will be available in the SCC Server 2.1 release. Partners with immediate need can send us a request via the cs-callconnector@external.cisco.com for the latest version of the Configuration Manager with this fix.

Thank you,

CallConnector Team

FYI - Small Biz support said that it is "by design" to overwrite your changes to Call Connector users if you import from CME.

Also, if you use csv file to import into Corporate Directory Contacts to update info, it doesn't update Groups if you added extra Groups.  Be prepared to manually select the groups EVERY TIME you have to import from CME.

When you import users, you have the option to overwrite user data, or to import users with different usernames.  If you select the second option, it will not overwrite your user data.  This might require you to delete additional users created on the import.

So I should tell the customer, if he buys this product, he will need to use the option to not overwrite when he imports name changes and new phones so it won't overwrite the extra fields he has filled it and then delete the extra users it has created?

Do you really think many people will want to do this? Do you think I will try to sell this product any longer?

This is basic stuff that should be working.
