Problem installing VPN Client 5.x on new work computer

I just got a shiny new work computer (Lenovo if that is important) with a clean XP image dropped onto it.

I was installing my "stuff", which would include my VPN client software. I downloaded a fresh copy of 5.x (5.007, I think) just today....

And when installing, I get "stuck" when it is trying to install the Network Adapter. I un-installed my VMware player, Virtual Box, and disabled the forefront AV client as well and get the same results.

I tried the corp's copy of 5.003 VPN client and the same thing happens. I downloaded the 5.007 AGAIN after nuking the previous version and now the "Deterministic Network something" GPF's and closes the whole install down.

Any ideas?

Thank you in advance,

Lee

I would start by uninstalling all VPN clients from the PC and disabling any 3rd party "network" services that my conflict such as firewalls, AV, other clients, etc.  If the automatic uninstall fails, you can try to manual steps at the doc below.  You can try to download the Windows Installer cleanup utility from Microsoft just to make sure that the MSI is completely uninstalled.  Download the latest DNE update from Citrix prior to re-installing the latest 5.0.07 client MSI.
