Unity 7.0(2) Call Handler Greetings

Answered Question
Jan 4th, 2011

Hi all,

Was wondering if some one could lend a hand. We have a recorded greeting right now for one of our Auto Attendants that point to 4 extensions everything works fine the only problem is 1 of those people no longer work here so instead of modifying the recorded message I was wondering if there is a way to use the system as the source instead of the recording. If I look at the system definition it says it uses a prerecorded message along with the subscriber name. I am new to the voice side of cisco and was hoping someone could help me get through the steps on this one. Any help is appreciated.

I have this problem too.

Hi jwils,

I really think that Brad is most correct here (+5 Brad!)

If the AA is listing a person/extension that no longer works at the

company, then you will want to change the Greeting eventually. Have a look

at how this can be done quite easily. This way you'll be ready for next time as well.

Hi,

The system greeting is designed to play "Sorry, is not available....."  The system greeting will still use the user's recorded name.  The personal greeting option would be where the user records just that, a personalized greeting rather than you hearing "Sorry, .....".  The last option would be to choose "blank" source.  You'll just hear "Record your message at the tone".  I'm not sure exactly what you're after as far as behavior, but hopefully those 3 options explained will help you choose which works best in your scenario.

Hope that helps,

Brad
