Greetings All,
When I try to use VPN through a Verizon aircard , I loose my connection to the internet. My company uses Cisco Systems VPN Client Version 4.7.00.0533, Running on: 5.1.2600 Service Pack 3.
The log gives me this message:

Adapter address changed from 75.213.104.118. Current address(es): 192.168.9.25.

Does anyone have a solution to this problem? Any help is greatly appreciated.
I live remotely and the Verizon aircard is my only high-speed option.

There is known issue with Verizon aircard and Cisco VPN Client compatibility. From past experience, if you update the driver for your Verizon aircard as well as upgrade the Cisco VPN Client to the latest version, the issue will be resolved.

I have just updated the verizon drivers for the usb760 modem to the latest version. Can you send me the link to the Cisco VPN Client update that I need for this?

Please kindly get in touch with your company's administrator who should have access to download the latest VPN Client software from cisco.com download site. I am not sure if you have accessed to download the software if you are having guest user access to cisco.com.

Will there be a problem if my version of the Cisco VPN client is different from everyone else at the company? My company's IT department is very conservative. The last time I asked them for assistance with this problem their response was 'Get on a wire'.

No, there is no issue with running different version of IPSec VPN Clients, unless your IT department has configured policy to only allow that particular version to connect to the VPN headend.
Unfortunately, only your IT department who has accessed to the cisco.com software download site can download the latest version of IPSec VPN Client on behalf of you. I have seen the issue was resolved when running IPSec VPN Client version 4.9. However, please feel free to request for the latest version 5.0 from your IT deparment if it's possible.
The reason why the IT department is a little conservative is probably because it could be harder to manage multiple different version of vpn client, hence they only allow 1 version that they have tested and worked for most scenarios.

OK. Got the IT department to update my Cisco VPN to the latest version. Now I'm getting slightly different errors. Any help is most appreciated. Here's a sample from the log:

Can you please add or modify the following settings in your vpn client profile:
ForceNatT=1
The VPN Client profile is in .pcf extension file and is located in "C:\Program Files\Cisco Systems\VPN Client\Profiles" directory.
If that doesn't work, you can also follow the Novell Client troubleshooting guide:

Issue seems to be with the aircard compatibility with other softwares within the laptop.

That did the trick! I've been working successfully through the Verizon aircard for the last week with no problems!

Just one more question: will this fix now work with
all verizon devices, such as a tethered smart phone, or is it specific to the usb760 modem?

I assume it will for those that doesn't support the NAT-T function on the card itself.
