CUBAC vs AC for CUCM 7.x - 8.x

So we will be upgrading from 7.x CUCM to 8.x CUCM.

Testing CUBAC it seem a lot different then AC.  First off, in AC i use no pilot points.  I've got a receptionist hwo has 4 shared lines that she gets calls on for our various hot lines. That way she can pick up the call and transfer via the directory.   In CUBAC theres queues, so now I cant do that?

Is there a equivelent product to the old AC that I can use with CUCM? I'm not keen into getting into queues, then id have to load 10 more CUBAC's for people who are more or less backup agents.

CUxAC (CUBAC, CUDAC, CUEAC) is ther replacement products for old AC.

If I understand your requirement correctly, you can configure 4 queues for those 4  various hot lines, The receptionist (Operator) will be assigned to the QUEUEs and take calls for the QUEUEs. For the backup agents, you can create them as the operator for the queues. And when they login, they will get the calls from the CUBAC server.
