UCM 7.1.5 Personal Address book & PD error - credentials are correct!

Guys,

Having a problem at the moment getting the personal address book / fast dials services working on IP phones.  We upgraded the CUCM from 4.1 to 7.1.5 which seemed to migrate all the phone services across but keep the old URLs for some reason (With the IP Address of the old CUCM)

WIth some research i've configured it now in a way which i believe to be correct, but it still gives me a "Cisco PD Error message - Error in authentication" even though i've ensured the userID and PIN are correct under the service subscription in administration.

Can anyone help with this or has experienced it? We have two services listed and i'm not sure which is correct. We have "Personal Address Book" which has a service URL of http://publisher:8080/ccmpd/login.do?name=#DEVICENAME#&service=pd which then has XML service as its category and "standard IP phone service" as its type. It has two parameters, UserID and UserPIN.

The service is enabled but any phone thats subscribed to it just gets the PD error message even though the credentials entered in the web admin are correct.

The other service we have is "Personal Directory" Which has a URL of "Application:Cisco/PersonalDirectory" and category XML service, type Directories.  It has no parameters defined.

Can anyone help me get this resolved? We are having exactly the same issue with fast dials.  The service URL for that is http://publisher:8080/ccmpd/login.do?name=#DEVICENAME#&service=fd

Thanks in advance for any help.

Hello,

Missed called, placed calls, and received calls are built in services that do not need to be configured.  In CUCM 7.x they're internal services (meaning they look like "Application:Cisco/MissedCalls").  Fast dials are under directories too along with personal address book.  However if you want to put fast dials and personal address book back as a service you can use these URLs which are from:

http://tools.cisco.com/Support/BugToolKit/search/getBugDetails.do?method=fetchBugDetails&bugId=CSCso28287

Also change the name to the ip address of the publisher:

http://publisher:8080/ccmpd/login.do?name=#DEVICENAME#&service=fd

Go to System >> Enterprise Parameter >> Phone URL Parameters

Kind regards,

Hi Marcel,

Strangely, the only thing that appears when you press the "Directories" button is missed, received and placed calls along with corporate directory. No personal directory or anything.  Is there any way to configure this to appear?

Aside from that, on the back of your advice (And also the link you gave) i now have personal directories and fast dials working correctly as an IP phone service.  The parameters i had configured were UserID and Pin, when they should be userid and pin (Case sensitive!!)

They now work as a service but it would be great if we could get them under directories as they are supposed to be!

Will rate your post as very useful, thanks for the really fast reply - ive had so much trouble finding a link that confirms the service URL's i should be using!

Hello again,

please go to IP Phone Services Configuration and take a look to the enterprise subscription of the service's. Are they enabled?

Also is the service enabled?

Kind regards,

Marcel Ammann
