Interface administratively down

Hi all,

  I am configuring a 2801 router . I set up ip address on the interface Fa 0/0 and  'no shutdown' command. But, after a restart , the interface is changing to down  again!

  What I must do to ?

is it just down or admin down? if it's just down then it's down because there's no live ethernet connection, is it plugged into anything?

This is admin down ! and is plugged into  a switch .

If you do "show version" what does it say for configuration register, if it says something like 0xNN4N (where N is any number), then do these:

config t

config-register 0x2102

int fas0/0

no shut

exit

exit

write mem

reload

You must save the configuration.

write mem

Or

copy running-config startup-config
