CNA - switch appears in topology view but not part of the community

Hi all,

after some advice - just started using CNA and have created a community which is all fine. I have a few switches that are there but are yellow in colour rather than green, if i right click them i have the option to add them to the community.. but if i do this i get an error that the switch is unreachable and unable to connect.

My first thought was that the switch model wasnt supported by CNA but upon looking they are the same model as some as our other switches which appear fine. Are they protected in some way?

Any advice appreciated. Thanks.

look for an ACL on the snmp string

snmp-server community your-string RO 82  <--82 denotes an ACL number.

If you see this, then you may be getting blocked.

Thanks - Just checked and no ACL number.

Had to enable ip http server on one of the switches in order to get it into the community.

I have two core switches left, both C4507R's. I get the error WS-C4507R is not supported as community member - anyone else had this?

Thanks

What's the naming convention used int the switch.

I've seen instances where if the name is for example "SW_1" it would not connect.

However, if I use "SW-1" then that works fine.

From my experience CNA does not like "_" in device names.

Core_Switch_1 and Core_Switch_2 - i've got about 20 non core switches with underscores in they're ok though....
