Yes u need to re image to Autonomous.. To convert please issue the hidden debug command and then convert.. please follow the exact steps.. i guess ur missing the main command..

AP>en

AP#debug lwapp console cli or debug capwap console cli

after this command u will be able to go into the conf t and then convert the image using the next following steps..
