I tried to keyed in the VMware license into ESXi 4.1 from vSphere client and all the 16 keys were always prompted failed with message "not valid on this product.

I installed using the Cisco ISO image "VMware-VMvisor-Installer-4.1.0-260247_Cisco.iso" on the B200M2 server. The license product code is VMW-VS-ENTP-1A=, the license key format is XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX.

Has anyone registered the ESXi license on UCS B series and able to enlighten me? Thanks

Hi Robin

Assuming your XXXX is referring to Cisco PAKs, the Cisco PAKs that you received need to be redeemed via the VMware OEM Specific portal. You will then receive emails from VMware containing the VMware license. It is these licenses received from VMware that can then be placed into the VMware license portal so that they can be registered and managed.

The following links explain the entire procedure and the second link contains a video demonstrating the process.

OEM Portal Overview:

VMware Partner Activation Codes (PAC) Explained

Hope that helps to clarify things.

Thanks,

Michael
