DTMF duplication on FXO

Hi,

I've following call-flow

PSTN --------FXO/3925/CME----CUE AA

I realized at times when PSTN caller presses extension, the CUE keeps on repeating the AA Pilot prompt instead of directing the call to extension number. It's happening intermittently.

I am running the following IOS:

c3900-universalk9-mz.SPA.151-2.T1.bin

I ran "debug VPM signal" and noticed there are duplicate DTMF received on the router and that is when the call fails/goes into AA repetition mode.

I dialled ext 3031 but in the debugs I could see router receiving 30311 on first attempt, 30311 on second and third attempts. After few attempts, it wored on the same call and I could get routed to ext 3031. That made me feel it's not CUE problem.

Not simple, but you might need a pcm capture to see if we are receiving multiple digits on your FXO lines.  I agree, the FXO port / DSPs are definitely seeing multiple presses, but a PCM capture with the logs are the next step.  The PCM capture will show you exactly what is coming across the line.

https://supportforums.cisco.com/docs/DOC-14060

Just make sure that you turn this off after have completed the capture.  You don't want to crash your router.

Hi,

I provided the PCM captures to TAC and they informed me that the DTMF tones are of poor quality from Telco.

I contacted Telco and they said, it seems they are sending DTMF at very high Decibel level due to which CME thinks it is receiving multiple DTMF digits.

Telco lowered down the DB level on DTMF tones and it resovled the issue.

Appreciate your recommendations.

thanks,
