Need help for Australia E1

To make a long story short, my organization (99.9 percent US) is standing up an office in Canberra, Australia. We ordered an E1 from Telstra but have had problems getting it stood up. Coming from the wall is a Telstra modem of some kind, labeled NTU-WS. It has a G.703 light on it that is blinkin red and green.


The gateway we have is a 3925 with a VWIC3-1MFT-T1/E1 module. We are concerned there is some aspect of the Telstra E1 deployment we missed. What do we need to do to get this working?


Can anyone give a poor US guy some pointers on AUS E1's?

This is a cut and paste from one of my routers in Australia that's working fine with a Telstra E1...

How far do you get? E.g. can you see the controller as UP but the voice ports down, or not even get that far? The only thing I remember finding to be different in Aus to most other countries was having to use "isdn overlap-receiving" to get the incoming caller ID to work right (but then it's a couple of years since I installed IPT in those offices).

pri-group timeslots 1-xx   ---- where xx number of channel you have

if you are using MGCP:
controller E1 0/2/0
pri-group timeslots 1-20 service mgcp


if you have translation for incominfg calls DID, Telestra sometimes the do not send the leading 0 for example if the DID 02yXXXXX
they might send it either 2yXXXXX or yXXXXXXXX
