WVC210 SMB record override?

Unanswered Question

Hi, was wondering if the WVC210 SMB record can override records without having to install the video survillence software on the PC?

Didn't find such an option via the admin page.

Thanks in advance.

I have this problem too.

Hi Kelvin,

Thank you for posting. The WVC210 does not have an overwrite feature and will continue to send video until the destination drive is full. The software has the ability to control this of course, along with much more functionality.

Thanks!

I'm clicking around the software, it seems like only when its recording to a local drive it has the ability to control this recording xx amount of days right?

Does this control work over a NAS too?

Also do we need to have the software running to have it delete expired recordings or it has some other application running in the background to check?

regards,

Hi Kelvin,

If you map a drive to the NAS and record to that drive the software should work the same as if you are recording to a local drive. The software needs to be running in order to overwrite or delete the old files. The hard drive or NAS will simply store them until told to do otherwise by the software.
