Showing the description of a category on hover

In our service catalog, we sometimes have a larger number of categories that need to be presented to the customer.  In order to increase the number of categories that can be viewed at a single time, we thought it might be a neat idea to make the descriptions of the categories appear after the customer hovers over the category name for a second or two.

Has anyone in the group been able to make the descriptions of the categories appear when you hove over the category?
