I was wondering if anyone knows a way to do a password recovery on the appliance. It's running within a VM on a solaris base.

We have recently forgotten the password to get into the system.

Any ideas on how to recover?

there is a cli tool to reset the admin password:

you have go to set the LD_LIBRARY_PATH and issue the ResetPasswd.pl

setenv LD_LIBRARY_PATH /opt/CSCOpx/MDC/lib:/opt/CSCOpx/lib

/opt/CSCOpx/bin/ResetPasswd.pl admin

I apologize. Maybe I was not clear where the problem lies. We actually can not access the shell from the sysadmin login

I do not know of a command to reset the password for this account, nor do I have a box to play with to find a solution.

While reading through a document, I stumbled over some sentences which finally brought me to this page: (see Step 10 !!)

I think it is tool late for you, but perhaps someone other could get lucky with it... :-)
