PVDM & CUBE

Hi there,

My customer currently has a Cisco 3825 and has 1 x VWIC2-2MFT-T1/E1 card with 2 x on-board PVDM2-64 already.

1) It currently has CUBE licenses on it but i don't know how many.  Is there any IOS command I can use to check?

2) Assume it already has 60 x CUBE licenses on it and i want to add another 75 x CUBE licenses (making it a total of 135 x CUBE licenses).  Is there any maximum limit of CUBE license a Cisco 3825 can handle?

3) I want to add an extra VWIC2-2MFT-T1/E1 card on to the 3825 router.  Can i put an extra 2 x PVDM2-64 on the VWIC2-2MFT-T1/E1 card?? (since the on-board is already full with 2 x PVDM2-64) - i.e. making the router to have a total of 4 x PVDM2-64 (2 on-board and 2 on the new VWIC2-2MFT-T1/E1 card??

Cheers,
Hunt

Hi,

The VWIC2-2MFT-T1/E1 card does not have slots for PVDM

The c3825 has four PVDM slots on the motherboard.

see

So you can install your PVDM's on the motherboard. You probably only need a further one PVDM2-64 for your total of 4 T1/E1 but this depends on which codecs you want to use., There's a DSP checker tool on CCO.

No Comment on licencing. My belief is that CUBE is for voip-voip calls only and on the c28/38xx routers is paper only.

Equally You don't need CCME or SRST so just need to consider the correct level - ie. SP services and above. I'm perfectly happy to be corrected on this.
