Cant console to WISM in a 6500

Hi guys, im having some trouble here. I dont think my cards are faulty (4 cards in 2 6500 switches), it would be a great coincidence.. but here is my problem:

I connect directly to my WISM cards, boot them (insert them), I see it turning on, enabling services, and as soon as the "username:" prompt apears, the Status led turns off and I lose console. This happens with every card, so I guess theres something wrong im doing.

Do you guys know any clue?

Software:

Cisco IOS Software, s72033_rp Software (s72033_rp-IPBASEK9-M), Version 12.2(33)SXI6, RELEASE SOFTWARE (fc4)

By the way, issuing the "session slot 1 pro 1" didnt work either

Can you pull a "show wism status" ?

For the session to work, you need to have configured the "wism service-vlan < vlan >" and a dhcp scope for it.  Then you should be able to session in through the fabric.

The status says serive port online. But 0.0.0.0 ips. i already enabled dhcp and service port vlan, just as documentation says. :S

can you post the dhcp scope,l3 SVi and the wism commands, and a show vlan brief?

yes you should be able to console directly in. So long as you are set for 9600/none/8/1 with no flow control.

For the fabric dude issue the command VLAN 192. In the 6k you need to explicitly create the L2 VLAN

Yeap, VLAN 192 was already created...

anything else I could try? Could it be an IOS problem or something?

what chassis are you using, 6509/6513?

Cards are in Slot 1 and 2, in both 6500

Can you kill the power to slot 2, and see if the WiSM in slot 1 will come up?  Could be a lack of power, but I would think it wouldn't power up at all, but you never know.

no power enable slot 2 IIRC

The default escape character is Ctrl-^, then x.

You can also type 'exit' at the remote prompt to end the session

The card is getting the power it requested, still no luck.

Ok, so still not getting DHCP to the service port.  You'll want to debug the DHCP process, and reset the card to see if we can see why it's not happening.
