Cisco Anyconnect fails with: vpn client was unable to setup ip filtering

Unanswered Question
Dec 29th, 2011

I just installed this software today on a windows 7 ultimate laptop

When attempting to connect to the VPN server, this is what it gets "vpn client was unable to setup ip filtering"

after this, my whole network connection goes down, usually i have to reboot as a wireless disconnect/connect does not help...  sometimes a disable/enable works to get it back working again

I am using version 2.5.3041 due to my company rules when connecting....

I have wasted too many hours trying to get this to work

I have this problem too.

combofix was recently used to remove malware and despite internet working, VPN did not.  there appears no solutions when searching online.

Resolution: reinstalled windows 7 and installs fine

This can happen if the BFE service is missing or not started most likely due to a virus.

Goto a working computer and export this registry key and import it into the laptop having issues.

Follow the steps in the link below to resolve.
