Pelco firmwares:

ftp://ftp.pelco.com/SupportSoftware/Pelco IP Cameras/

I believe the Pelco Sarix is the Cisco 5000 series, and the Pelco Spectra IV is the Cisco 2900 series, firmwares need to be the latest, not below 1.5.9 i think.

Is this correct?

Cisco.com has the 5000 series software but not the 2900 right now (only release notes). Weird.

Found them both at http://www.cisco.com/cisco/web/support/index.html

Yup, that's why i'm asking... What did you find at that link, what did you mean by 'both'?

By searching for IP cameras you get the following information. I meant both since both the 5000 and 2900 series cameras are choices.

Click the link for the camera type you want and go from there. You can get the release notes, upgrade guides, software (in most cases) and end user guides.

So i guess Cisco is not providing a firmware to download for the 2900 series?  I guess to know that we'll await a Cisco tech for an answer, i got as far as you have.

The 5010, 5011, 2900 are Pelco Sarix cameras.  A firmware release came out in March 2011 with bug list, but the firmware doesn't seem easily available.  Here's the release notes and partial screenshot.

I was wondering about that too.

The opinion around development is that the firmware shouldn't be needed in the download area since we haven't come out with a revision.

I would have expected to see it out there just as a matter of policy, but I guess I can see thier point.

Have you run into any problems that required the firmware to be reloaded?

Hi Cory,

I have the 1.6.18 firmware from Cisco Indonesia, but it is 23MB large

maybe you could contact your local Cisco guy or TAC engineer for the file

from my experience, the preloaded firmware (1.6.17 I believe) may not be able to zoom in/out via VSOM in some random condition.

Really?  That's great to know.  Can you get me this info off that camera?

http:///setup/system/information

It should look like:

Firmware Version:1.6.17.2084-O1.5523
Hardware Version:2084-O1.0-00000
Model Number:CIVS-IPC-2900
Serial Number:ABVKXX4

Maybe I can get it posted to the site!

Ah well, looks like it was too good to be true.

1.6.18 is still in QA as of today.

It would still be good to get the system info though.
