Cisco 7942 unable to Register on UC540:registration rejected:Max phones

Unanswered Question
Jan 11th, 2012

Hye All,

I have a 7942g phone. it's IP configuration is static and it has to register on a UC540 that has a capacity of 40 ephones.

Right now, 14 phones are registered on this equipment but when i wish to add any other phone, it mentions

registration rejected:Max phones.

I ran the debug ephone error command and obtained the following

14 User Licenses

Your system supports 14 users only. You can configure 40 ephones, but not register more than 14 simultaneously.

To increase number of ephones, you can either purchase the uc-user license, or enable an evalutation license that last 8 weeks as shows above.

In any case, you should also update software, currently available software pack 8.2
