Hi folks,
Let's take the output below as an example:
Router#show logging <-- output ommited --> Jan 10 23:10:54.723: %LINK-3-UPDOWN: Interface GigabitEthernet0/0, changed state to up Jan 10 23:10:55.723: %LINEPROTO-5-UPDOWN: Line protocol on Interface GigabitEthernet0/0, changed state to up .Jan 11 16:16:19.702: %LINEPROTO-5-UPDOWN: Line protocol on Interface GigabitEthernet0/0, changed state to down .Jan 11 16:16:20.702: %LINK-3-UPDOWN: Interface GigabitEthernet0/0, changed state to down .Jan 11 16:16:25.701: %LINK-3-UPDOWN: Interface GigabitEthernet0/0, changed state to up .Jan 11 16:16:26.701: %LINEPROTO-5-UPDOWN: Line protocol on Interface GigabitEthernet0/0, changed state to up Jan 12 09:29:56.133: %LINEPROTO-5-UPDOWN: Line protocol on Interface GigabitEthernet0/0, changed state to down Jan 12 09:29:57.133: %LINK-3-UPDOWN: Interface GigabitEthernet0/0, changed state to down
Pay attention to lines 3-6. They're dot preceeded. Someone knows what is the meaning of that?

When the line was logged the time/timestamp could not be "trusted" because NTP sync was lost.

The dot indicates that your system was not synced with its configured NTP server when the entry was generated.
