Hi all,

I am trying to configure a meet-me room into my CME but I can't configure dspfarm because the maximum session command says that maximum is 0.

I have a PVDM3-32

        PVDM Slot 0:

        32-channel (G.711) Voice/Fax PVDM3 DSP DIMM PVDM daughter card

        Hardware Revision        : 1.0

        Part Number              : 73-11577-03

        Board Revision           : B0

        Deviation Number         : 0

        Fab Version              : 03

        PCB Serial Number        : XXXXXXXXX

        RMA Test History         : 00

        RMA Number               : 0-0-0-0

        RMA History              : 00

        Processor type           : 00

        Product (FRU) Number     : PVDM3-32

        Version Identifier       : V01

And I think that I have avaiable resources,

You only have 32 channel PVDM card and modules totaling 20 ports, 32 channel PVDM gives you 2 DSPs, DSPs cannot be shared between voice ports and conference bridges, since with low complexity codec router will allocate 20 PVDM channels to the voice ports upon boot you theoretically have only 12 channles remaining which is not a full DSP, hence no available ports for conference bridge.

You either need to remove some of the voice modules if you are not using them, or order additional PVDMs.

He's using a PVDM3 so the math is a bit different because now the same DSP can have TDM/XCODER/CFB.

Any way, just ran you scenario thru the DSP calculator and with your current HW there are no resources left.

You need to buy another PVDM

Use this tool to get the math of what dsp resources you need depending on the number/codec of the conferences you want to configure.

Thank you Chris.

How I can view or understand channel allocation?

Thanks Java,

Is possible to shutdown some voice ports or is mandatory to remove unused modules?

Thanks.

David,

My understanding is that shutting down ports will not remove the allocation.  As to the DSP calculation as Java mentioned it gets slightly tricky with PVDM3 models, so your best bet is to use the calculator provided via the link.
