Dear all,
i am having centralized VOIP ( 7 branches)
HQ has the CUCM 7 - BE with 2811 router, and the rest of the branches having 2811 routers.
I want to configure Fax over ip between the sites and recieving faxes from the pstn too at each site.
- Is the FXS port at each router will do the above and doing the configuration ofcourse..?
- use fax relay protocol... ? OR....
- can the gateway router convert the fax into email or i need fax server...?
can i have a clear answer with some pdf refrences teaching from where to start and the configuration too...
thanks alot.

Dear Mohammed,
You can use ATA or FXS in branches.
The most important thing is to send the fax using G.711 not G.729, so using ATA is easier to do this. but do not use ATA with CME jsut use ATA in case you need to configure branches as SRST. usually ATA and CME not working fine.
To convert the fax to e-mail you have to use Fax server like Cisco Fax server (RightFax)
