Cisco 3502i stuck in Join loop

Unanswered Question

I've got several 3502i's that refuse to join to the controller, and just get stuck in a cycling blinking colors on the LED. Other AP's off the same port, controller, work fine. Logs are as follows...

That's interesting.

Can you provide the model and version of your WLCs? Also are you using DNS for discovery or another option?

davadria1 Mon, 02/06/2012 - 12:01

It's a WLC 4402 with eight SVC-WiSM 's. I'm using DNS for discovery, and it found the correct controller at bootup.

Leo Laohoo Mon, 02/06/2012 - 15:02

Can you post the following output?

1.  WAP:  sh version

2.  WAP:  sh inventory

3.  Controller:  sh sysinfo

Thanks for the output.

Can you console into the WAP and reboot?  I want to see the entire bootup process including the JOIN process.

Can the WAP ping the management IP address of the WLC?

If yes, then try to enter this command into thw WAP:  config capwap ap controller ip address

jyoung@inshoret... Mon, 02/13/2012 - 16:18

Are you seeing anything in the controller logs?

Do you have multiple controllers in a mobility group?

David,

Did you ever find a solution to this?  I have three 3502i APs at one locaiton doing the same thing.  Unfortunately I don't have console access to mine but I verified with someone at the locaiton that they were blinking green-red which is typical of the discovery phase.  I'm running 7.0.220.0.  Thanks.

Todd

Hi Todd,

Would be nice if someone could console into the WAP and post the entire bootup process.
