Cisco Prime LMS 4.2 - License Upgrade from LMS 4.X

Hello,

I have customers that own Cisco Prime LMS 4.X (4.0 or 4.1).

They are entitled for free license upgrade to Prime Infrustracture 1.1 (which includes LMS 4.2).

When using the Cisco Product Upgrade Tool, I don't see LMS 4.2 (or Prime Infrustructure 1.1) license for my customers that are entitled for that.

I only see license for LMS 4.1 for my customer that own LMS 4.0.

How do I upgrade the license to LMS 4.2 for my customers?

Thaning in advance, Udi Dahan.

This forum is searchable and there are alraedy a few threads on LMS 4.2

As you can see the others are not able to get a new licenses

So the bottom line is we have to wait until cisco gets their act together on the product upgrade tool:

http://tools.cisco.com/gct/Upgrade/jsp/productUpgrade.jsp

Thier you will find the new 4.2 license PAK codes, as said when cisco is ready.

Cheers,

Michel

Hello,

I have the same issue, the upgrade tool for 4.2 licenses will be available after mid-march according to Cisco TAC.

LMS 4.2 is working fine with 4.1 license.

Andrzej,

Did you upgrade from 4.1 or was it a new install ?

Version 2 and 3 worked with a 2.X and 3.X license. It made life easy for the integrators.

cisco changed that to a per version license on 4.0, but maybe the overhead on re-genrating licenses is bigger then the money they make on a few extra SAS contracts.

Cheers,

Michel

Hi,

I have upgraded LMS 4.1 to 4.2 on Software Appliance, license is still valid.

Cheers,

Andrzej

Hi,

FYI, the upgrade tool for LMS 4.2 and NCS 1.1 is available. It is a new bundle named Cisco Prime Infrastructure 1.1.

Cheers,

Abel
