CSS / Cognos Keepalives

We're trying to configure keepalives on for IBM Cognos servers behind a CSS such that the CSS will determine availability based on response from a particular port / URI.  We've tried various combinations of TCP / 9300, HTTP get / head, etc. but the CSS always seems to see the server as being alive even when we shut down the service on the server.  Currently the configuration looks like this, though we've tried several different combinations of settings:

service EOIR-COG-NOE11

  ip address x.x.x.x

  keepalive type http

  keepalive frequency 2

  keepalive uri "/p2pd/servlet/ping"

  keepalive port 9300

  active

Any suggestions about what should work for this?  Thanks for any information.

Hi,

The CSS will keep the service alive if it's receiving a 200ok response. Are totally sure that the server is not answering the GET? The simple way to find out is getting an sniffer trace, if the server is not responding, it could be a bug, there were some in old software versions, what code are running?
