911 Calls Not Working

what would be the cause for 911 calls to not work? When you dial that number nothing happens.

We have to dial 9 to get an outside line so it's 9911.

Are you fairly comfortable with CLI?  If so, you should see something like this when you do a show run.

voice translation-rule 1112

rule 1 /^9\(.......\)$/ /828\1/

rule 3 /^911$/ /911/

rule 4 /^91/ //

rule 5 /^9/ //

rule 6 /^8/ /00/

rule 7 // //

The dial peers are attached.

Jesse,

Most likely you don't have a translation or a dial peer for 911.  Does it just go to fast busy?

what entries would I need to add 911 as a dial peer or a translation?

I inputted all of this. thanks

Remember the translation rule is for the 828 area code.  It will add and 828 to any 7 digit phone number dialed.  You will need to change it for your area code.

well mine can be either 602 or 480 so I would prefer that the person types it in. so should I just remove these lines:

rule 2 /^9\(.......\)$/ /828\1/

That is correct.
