Jabber Video 4.4.3.14479 registration failure

Unanswered Question
Mar 21st, 2012

I was wondering if anyone else has run into this problem where the Jabber video client fails to register, but all Jabber video ports on the firewall have been opened outbound.  I am running version Jabber Video version 4.4.3.14479 on Wondows 7 32-bit plaform.  We are using an ASA5510 running asa805-k8.bin.  We have a secondary internet connection using an ASA5510 (same software version) and when I tried routing traffic destined for

sjc1-movi-pr-bootproxy-vip.ciscojabbervideo.com out that connection, it produces the same result.  Anyone have any ideas?

I have this problem too.

Hi,

I'm having same issue and it looks like there is no DNS SRV record for:

_sips._tcp.proxy.global.jabber.com: type SRV, class IN

and

_https._tcp.sjc1-movi-pr-bootproxy-vip.ciscojabbervideo.com: type SRV, class IN

/Mikko

Hi Mikko,

Thanks for the addditional info and input.  I noticed that I am getting an internal service record:

> _sips._tcp.proxy.global.jabber.com
Server:  ******
Address:  *****

Non-authoritative answer:
_sips._tcp.proxy.global.jabber.com      SRV service location:
          priority       = 10
          weight         = 50
          port           = 5061
          svr hostname   = movi-pr-sbc4a-sjc1.jabber.com

I am also seeing an exeternal service record:

> _sips._tcp.proxy.global.jabber.com
Server:  resolver1.opendns.com
Address:  208.67.222.222

Non-authoritative answer:
_sips._tcp.proxy.global.jabber.com      SRV service location:
          priority       = 10
          weight         = 50
          port           = 5061
          svr hostname   = movi-pr-sbc4a-sjc1.jabber.com

I have a guest network connection that is using the same external DNS server and I can log into Jabber Video without any problems.  The guest network is using as ASA 5505 for the firewall.
