Monitoring CPO Servers

Hi,

We expect to install farm of CPO servers shortly and we need to monitor them for availability. We don't just want to check if the server is reachable but we want to reliably establish that the Application and its components are working as expected. Is there a way we can monitor that the application and the web-service is up and accepting/processing connections.

Thanks,

Bhavesh

A good place to start is my blog @ https://supportforums.cisco.com/community/netpro/data-center/intelligent_automation/blog/2012/03/16/pondering-automation-multiple-hours-of-process-authoring-goodness which builds out an example of this scenario. In it I monitor the TEO service being up as well as the database service for TEO's database being up.

There is *nothing* build out of the box to do this. It would all have to be custom content. You would need to mointor the TEO service, might want to monitor( URL ping) the web services. You could also check the windows event log for the web service started entry. Depending on what the customer is using TEO for you can expand the monitoring as well to monitor SQL services or Oracle, etc.

When you say Application working, then monitoring the service is fine, but when you say "it's components", which particular components do you mean? SAP ABAP, SAP JAVA, web services, terminal, etc? As long as the TEO service is running, then the components would be running.

You could monitor CCP being up as well if you are using this for a Cloud deployment. (monitor the service/monitor the webpage/etc)

You would need to expand on what your full use case is to get a better idea.

As an FYI, since it would be custom content, the content itself is not TAC support, only the activities are.
