hi,
can someone please tell me if its true that you can update your ios for free within the 90 day warranty.
if it is true, does this regard all devices?
e.g. a customer bought a asa 5510 and installed was a old version of the ios. now our customer complains that he wants to have the current version.
but as far as i know he would need a smartnet in order to get the current ios.
but i think to remember that someone told me that you can update your ios device withthin the 90 day warranty. true?
thanks.

Hi,
Usually Cisco devices come with one year warranty by default. You also need a SmartNet contract and CCO account to download a new IOS. If the device is only 90 day old, you should not have any issue loading a newer version. Talk to your Cisco sales/SE rep. They will help with with CCO account and contract issues.

hi reza,
sorry for my late reply.
i know that its possible if you have an smartnet but is it possible without a smartnet?
or do you always need a smartnet to update to a newer ios version, regardless of the device?
thanks.
