Unanswered Question
Apr 25th, 2012

Hi,

Cisco 2811 -->  c2800nm-adventerprisek9-mz.151-4.M2

Voice Phones --> some

Sip Acc --> Sipgate

ISDN BRI --> VIC2-2BRI NT/TE

So on. Sip Calls and internal Calls are working fine. Now i want to configure the ISDN Bri Connection... but in do not its confusing =) I have configured the Bri, the translation rules, the voice port and the dial peer.... but outgoing calls doesn`t work.

How to configure it ?

Thx for Help

I found this:

Re: VOIP: Disconnect Cause=41

Hi, the  disconnect cause of 29 means facility rejected. in other words whatever  the facility the user requested, the network can't provide it. the  disconnect cause of 41 means a temporary network failure. i hope this  helps.

As often mentioned ins similar threads.

Take "debug isdn q931" with "Term mon".

Do not take other debugs, do not use attachments.

it seams that the 0 is cutted but why ? With SIP it works.....

mitchell.drage Thu, 04/26/2012 - 01:35

I take it your dialing 0,01763031xxxx?

The first step an e.164 number takes when it matches a dial-peer is it applies a translation profile, in your case, removing the first zero (your access code for your ISDN dial-peer), leaving 01763031xxxx.

The second zero is also being stripped because its an explicitly defined digit in your dial-peer voice 10 pots which leaves you with 1763031xxxx which cant be routed on the PSTN in your country.

Ref: http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/ios/12_2/voice/configuration/guide/vvfpeers.html#wp1280021

To fix this issue you can remove the translation profile outgoing from your dial-peer, or apply the command 'no digit-strip' to your dial-peer.

The Phone do not RING !!!

here is the current bri cfg:

interface BRI0/2/0

no ip address

isdn switch-type basic-net3

isdn point-to-point-setup

isdn incoming-voice voice

isdn static-tei 0

end

mitchell.drage Thu, 04/26/2012 - 02:59

Ok, so we may have fixed one potential issue, but this line:

Layer 2 Status:

        TEI = 0, Ces = 1, SAPI = 0, State = TEI_ASSIGNED

says to me that you dont have layer 2 connectivity to your telco.

It should say something like this before you can make calls:

Layer 2 Status:

        TEI = 0, Ces = 1, SAPI = 0, State = MULTIPLE_FRAME_ESTABLISHED

Please undebug all and then debug isdn q921 and post some of the results.

Mitch

Paolo Bevilacqua Thu, 04/26/2012 - 03:03

Mitchell, as discussed so many times in similar thread. that is normal with BRI.

CO switch removes power to the circuit, and that state is normal.

The router is supposed to be able to re-activate layer 3 when placing a call. This can be observed with "debug bri".

mitchell.drage Thu, 04/26/2012 - 03:15

Ok, there you go, thanks for correcting me.

Any ideas about the actual problem then?

jan.ifkovitz Thu, 04/26/2012 - 03:38

I can not upgrade because the compatibility matrix shows that version 8.6 is the last version what is supported by cisco 2811. I only can downgrade.....

jan.ifkovitz Thu, 04/26/2012 - 01:19

Can you verify with telco that you have static TEI ?

Can you take "debug BRI" and "debug isdn q921" when attempting a call.

Check you configuration, there are many examples in forum or in the documentation.

jan.ifkovitz Fri, 04/27/2012 - 10:33

I will do i only want to know the direction of the failure an not an copy paste answer. Happy weekend

Paolo Bevilacqua Fri, 04/27/2012 - 12:07

You can see that I never use copy and paste in my answers on this forum, at the same time it is expected that a student uses a good amount of due diligence.

jan.ifkovitz Fri, 04/27/2012 - 16:18

Great Honeypot ! I mean that i would not only copy your answers.... not that you do a copy paste.... i think its a better way to find the right way by myself =) not only do copy and paste your answer.

sorry my english is sometimes weak. Greats
