Hi, i have an issue with a 2106 WLC. We have a 44xx series WLC and had an issue with Apple devices: they could not print from wireless. The workaround in the 44xx series WLC was that we have enabled Unicast in the Access Point Multicast mode (configued under Controller/General).
The issue now is that the 2106 wlc does not have unicast in AP multicast mode.
Is it not supported?

I have not had an issue with the 2106 being configured as multicast and using a multicast address (239.x.x.x). Search the forum on how other got this to work... most have required multicast. Here is a link:

Simple..
Multicast-Unicast is obselete in Cisco's world now since its a broadcast.. the alternate solution for ur problem will be to configure the Multicast-Multicast mode and specify the Multicast Group Ip address in 239.X.X.X range,
This Ip will only be used between the WLC and the AP to communicate, then the time we configure the Multicast-Multicast mode, we need to make sure the below configs are doen o nthe wired side
1>> Multicast routing global config on the router
2>> Enable PIM Dense or sparse or Sparse-dence mode on the below interfaces
WLC management VLAN
WLC AP manager vlan
Client VLAN
AP VLAN
3>> On the WLC enable Global multicast and IGMP snooping.
By doing all the above, you issue will get resolves for Sure!!
